- Avoid peak monsoon (July-August) due to landslides.
Route Options
- Delhi → Manali → Leh (Scenic, challenging with high passes)
- Delhi → Srinagar → Leh (Easier, gradual altitude gain)
- Delhi → Manali → Leh → Srinagar → Delhi (Complete circuit, most recommended)
I chose the Manali – Leh – Srinagar circuit.
Delhi to Ladakh Bike Trip Cost Breakdown (Per Person)
Here’s what I spent on my trip:
Bike Expenses
- Own bike (Royal Enfield 350cc) servicing: ₹4,000
- Fuel (approx. 2,500 km, mileage 30 km/l, petrol ₹105 per litre): ₹8,500 – ₹9,000
- Spare parts + puncture kit: ₹1,000
Stay
- Budget hotels & homestays: ₹800 – ₹1,200 per night
- For 10 nights: ₹9,000 – ₹10,000
Food
- Thalis, Maggi, momos, chai: ₹300 – ₹500 per day
- For 10 days: ₹4,000 – ₹5,000
Permits
- Rohtang Pass & Inner Line Permits (for Nubra, Pangong): ₹800 – ₹1,200
Other Costs
- Medicines (for altitude sickness, first aid): ₹500
- Extra cash for emergencies: ₹2,000
Total Cost of Delhi to Ladakh Bike Trip
- Own Bike: ₹25,000 – ₹30,000 (per person)
- Rented Bike (Delhi/Manali): Add ₹1,200 – ₹2,000 per day = ₹12,000 – ₹15,000 extra
So if you’re renting, the trip may cost around ₹35,000 – ₹40,000.

- Day 1: Delhi → Manali
- Day 2: Manali → Jispa
- Day 3: Jispa → Sarchu
- Day 4: Sarchu → Leh
- Day 5: Leh local sightseeing (Shanti Stupa, Leh Market)
- Day 6: Leh → Nubra Valley (via Khardung La)
- Day 7: Nubra → Pangong Lake
- Day 8: Pangong → Leh
- Day 9: Leh → Kargil
- Day 10: Kargil → Srinagar → Delhi return
Tips from My Experience
- Carry extra petrol – pumps are limited after Tandi.
- Stay hydrated – altitude sickness is real.
- Ride in groups – safer and more fun.
- Keep cash handy
– digital payments may not work.
- Travel light – only essentials in saddlebags.
